In March 2021, at 38 years old, just 4 weeks postpartum, I experienced deep pain under my left rib when breathing. Overnight the pain got gradually worse and moved to my back until I was unable to lie down or pick up my baby boy. I knew something was very wrong. I didn’t experience shortness of breath or any other symptoms until I was in hospital. At first, they thought I was experiencing a panic attack until a CTPA scan was carried out and I was diagnosed with multiple PE in my left lung provoked by my cesarean section. 2 years later the psychological impact of my diagnosis is still very much there but the anxiety is lessening daily. I’m grateful every day to still be here for my little boy and Husband.
