Your donation to Thrombosis Ireland will help to raise awareness about thrombosis / blood clots nationally. It will also fund Information, support and education initiatives for patients, their families and carers. Thrombosis Ireland receive no Government funding and relies entirely on grants and voluntary donations.

At Thrombosis Ireland we collect our donations through iDonate the leading Irish site for online donations. iDonate supports over 900 Charities, Not for Profits, and Trusts. iDonate checks all charities and NFPs who register on iDonate to ensure they are legitimate. Hence, they can assure you that your donation will go directly to the charity or NFP.

Donor Charter

As a charity seeking donations, Thrombosis Ireland aims to comply with the Guidelines for Charitable Organisations on Fundraising (links to https://www.charitiesregulator.ie/media/1083/guidance-for-fundraising-english.pdf) from the Public. We treat all donors with respect, honesty and openness. We commit to being accountable and transparent for the donations we receive so that donors and prospective donors can have full confidence that donations go towards the activities for which they are intended.


Thrombosis Ireland promises donors or prospective donors will, via www.thrombosis. ie:

  • Have access to the Thrombosis Ireland organisation’s mission and policies.
  • Be informed of the identity of those serving on our governing board, and that this board will exercise prudent judgement in its stewardship responsibilities.
  • Have access to the organisation’s most recent financial statements.
  • Be assured your gifts will be used for the purposes for which they were given.
  • Receive appropriate acknowledgement and recognition.
  • Be assured that information about your donation is handled with respect and with confidentiality to the extent provided by law.
  • Expect that all relationships with individuals representing the charity will be dealt with professionally.
  • Be informed whether those seeking donations are volunteers, Thrombosis Ireland employees or hired third party agents.
  • Have procedures for complaints.
  • Have the opportunity for any names to be deleted from mailing lists and be assured that your details will not be shared with third parties.
  • Receive prompt, truthful and forthright answers to questions you might have of the organisation.
